Fragile X Syndrome (FSX)
Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) occurs in approximately 1 in 4,000 males and 1 in 8,000 females. This X-linked genetic condition causes a range of developmental problems that encompass learning disabilities and cognitive impairment.
Carriers of this commonly inherited condition are generally healthy adults with no family history of the disorder and consequently unaware of their carrier status.
Fragile X Syndrome is a simple blood test that can be arranged through your doctor.
The cost of Fragile X Syndrome is $130. The Medicare rebate is $86 if there is a family history of the condition.
